KARA is “sweet melody” in Greek

The spring of 2007 has been a period of revival in the surge of debuting girl bands. Rather than being called by their names, fans and record companies alike sometimes refer to them as the 2nd generation of girl bands we last saw in Korea in the late 1990s.

Kara (카라) was the last of the girl groups to debut on the 29th of March, and they have won over the hearts of many fans – including me. Kara is signed under DSP Entertainment, which previously housed another 4-member group Fin.K.L. Thus, it is no surprise that they are labeled as the 2nd Fin.K.L.
